Nice (and rather unique) hometown show!
There are a couple of things of unique interest about the grassroots set. First and most obvious is the cameo appearance of the tuvan throat singers during the instrumental tail of Planck Time. Second and much more trivial is that this was the last show that Tom used a Sennheiser mic before switching to his (New) Telefunken for the late summer/fall tour.
Sound-wise, the recording reminds me of an SDC set of neumanns and had I not known what was used, I would have guessed it was a set of 184s used up front. There was a bright grit and/or grain imparted somewhere in the signal chain (or through a series of events) that generally works to an advantage.
Strong renditions or of particular interest (IMHO) are both Planck Time, and SKB. The encore in general is well rounded also and you get a sense that the band is feeding off of the audience.
